Kim Jae-seo, a 32-year-old eternal single, is a game developer who studied mathematics at KAIST. He is a founding team member who participated in developing PUBG: Battlegrounds for eight years and now also gives programming feedback for other games. With basically everything he needs at the office, including a bed and a shower, spending 365 days a year at work has pulled him away from dating. Due to his rapid aging gray hair and facial hair, people often assume he is much older than he actually is. After a complete style revamp, he feels great about his new appearance and looks ten years younger. "I'll prove that the makeover was worth it," he says. "I definitely gained confidence. My goal is getting a girlfriend. I really hope it happens."
Yoon Jung-yun, a 26-year-old eternal single, is a college student studying business at Inha University who will be graduating soon. Due to his personality and because he is a huge homebody, he finds it difficult to maintain eye contact with women, gets awkward, and stutters a lot. Since he had not been able to date up until now, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so he decided to pluck up his courage and applied for the show. For his makeover, he practiced by going on mock blind dates and learned how to be more comfortable holding a conversation with a woman. "I could strategize and reflect on myself," he says. "They say starting is half the battle, so I'm going to give it my all for the other half."
Ahn Seung-hyun, a 30-year-old eternal single, is a dentist currently working as a public health doctor who goes to places such as senior community centers to give lectures and provide dental checkups. As he is a bit on the older side, some of his friends are getting married, and he feels like he is falling behind. It has been difficult for him to start a relationship because talking is not his strongest suit, especially in front of women, as he always ends up rambling. After learning conversation skills from an expert and reading the book he received, he has gained more confidence. "I think I'll be able to escape my eternal singledom," he says. As per advice from his Cupid, Car, the garden, to constantly make jokes, no matter what, he sincerely hopes he does not ruin the atmosphere while on dates.
Choi Hyuk-joon, a 31-year-old eternal single, is working as a marketer who is in charge of all integrated marketing at a distribution company. Back in college, after about five or six dates, he confessed and was breadcrumbed by the first woman he had feelings for. It made him become scared and felt that if he trusted someone and got attached, he would only become heartbroken. With the help of a psychiatrist on the show, he learned that he probably developed dismissive-avoidant tendencies when he got hurt to protect himself. After receiving advice to proactively open up a bit more and to simply be himself, along with Cupid Seo In-guk's voice training method to help improve the pitch of his voice, he became more confident in himself. "If I could find love through this good opportunity, I'd be over the moon," he says. "I want to show all my charms and find someone nice."
Lee Jin-woo, a 26-year-old eternal single, is a fourth-year college student currently majoring in architectural engineering at Ajou University. Jin-woo admits to being in a relationship for about a year but never met her. When he started university during the pandemic, he had no one to talk to and felt lonely. He met someone on an anonymous chat app and developed feelings for her as they kept texting each other. However, she kept making excuses and said no whenever he asked to meet up. Since it was his first time having a close connection with a woman, he could not cut her off right away, and a year passed like that without ever meeting in person. In the past, he was overweight, weighing almost 100kg at one point. To meet someone nice, he thought he should be physically attractive, and worked hard to lose weight and gain confidence. Since he has more experience of talking to women compared to the other participants, he thinks he will do well even if he joins the show later as a game changer.
Kim Tae-hoon, a 29-year-old eternal single, is a college student majoring in public policy at Dankook University. He studied to become a police officer for about four to five years, but is now thinking about becoming a tax accountant or a judicial scrivener. When he was in 9th grade, he dated someone for about 50 days, and that was his first and last relationship. He initially pursued her, but the short relationship ended in a breakup because the return value was not as big as he expected. Hoping to be all lovey-dovey, they barely talked whenever they actually met up. As for why he has not dated again, he admits to being petty and says he got into a fight with a girl every year in school. Although he does not think of himself as an eternal single, he has come in with the resolution to do his best to stir things up as the game changer.
Jeon Seo-yoon, a 29-year-old eternal single, graduated from Ewha Womans University in architectural and urban systems engineering. Currently at AXA, a multinational insurance corporation, she does B2B partnerships work. Up until now, she has been fangirling NCT DREAM since their debut in 2016, and JISUNG, the youngest member, has been her bias for ten years. As others always say, the fangirl love cells and the dating love cells are practically the same, so she has put off dating in real life. Now that she is about to enter her thirties, she is at the age where she needs to seriously think about marriage. A non-organic encounter like this is something she needs, so she made up her mind to sign up for the show. "My desire to be in a relationship is at 100%," she says. Holding two tickets to NCT DREAM's concert in Nagoya for next January, she hopes to have a boyfriend to travel around with and watch the concert too.
Choi Hyun-seo, a 27-year-old eternal single, is a four-month intern curator at a gallery who sells artwork and discovers new artists. As a self-proclaimed otaku who went to an all-girls arts middle school and high school, she has not had many chances to meet men other than 2D ones found in manga. Her favorite manga series are Gintama, Blue Lock, and the romantic comedy Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun. And her ultimate bias is a character from Gintama called Toshiro Hijikata, who has been her bias for ten years. She describes her ideal 2D dream guy as someone with dark hair, cat-like eyes, levelheaded, a man of action and jovial. The main reason she cannot get a boyfriend is that she thinks she is low energy and quite reserved. She thinks men do not really like her type, and prefers cute and bubbly personalities. "This time, I'll flirt passionately and find myself a boyfriend," she says.
Lee Han-ju, a 27-year-old eternal single, is a Korean medicine doctor with two years under her belt. She did not apply for Season 1 because she thought she would be able to find someone if she tried hard enough. Her ideal type, looks-wise, is handsome guys with a bit of a bad boy vibe like pretty boy K-pop idols. After trying to date for over a year and going on countless blind dates, she realized she needed help. Most men did ask for a second date, but they never asked her to be their girlfriend, and got rejected by all of them. When she thinks about why things did not work out in the past, drinking alcohol excessively and getting carried away was the biggest problem. She vows to become a changed woman in order to get into a relationship. "I'm confident that I'll walk away with good results," she says.
Kim Soo-hyun, a 28-year-old eternal single, is a college student majoring in Western painting in the art department focusing on media art. As soon as the open casting call was made, her younger sister encouraged her to apply for the show. Her family always tells her to date and presses her like crazy, worrying about whether she can find someone and get married. The entire family is rooting for Soo-hyun's love life, and believes this show is her best chance at finding someone. With her down-to-earth personality, she is always wearing the same worn-out darker colored clothes. After a full wardrobe revamp, she says, "I'm sure my chance of finding a boyfriend is 1000%."
Han Su-ji, a 26-year-old eternal single, majored in illustration in the UK and is a ceramicist now whose work combines illustration and pottery. By doing a lot of independent work, she spends most of her time alone in her studio. Since she has lived abroad on her own for many years, she is very independent. But she thinks this can make her appear unapproachable in other people's eyes. "My desire to date someone is at its max. It's at 100%," she says. "I'll woo everyone with my charms," feeling confident about getting a boyfriend this time.
An Jeong-eun, a 30-year-old eternal single, studied Korean medicine at Kyung Hee University, and has been a Korean medicine doctor for five years. She has actually been contacted by My Sibling's Romance and Heart Signal, but could not possibly pull it off as an eternal single, so this show is the perfect fit for her. Due to past trauma of being bullied back in her school days, she has often been told by others that she seems to put up a wall before becoming very close to someone. The fear of being judged and mistaken has made it difficult for her to meet and interact with someone new. When it comes to relationships, she is constantly worried about things that could happen in the distant future, but promises herself not to do that this time. "Instead of running away, I'll be my authentic self and face my fear head-on," she says confidently.
