Park Hangyeol shocks the members by revealing his Pink Lie during the house party. Will the truth be a game changer? Later, the Pink Moon rises announcing an overnight trip!
Episode 9 - Order Is Important!
With hearts still in turmoil, a new days begins at the 'Pink House.' Daon and Taeyang are still avoiding each other and have not talked since the alarm incident. Meanwhile, Hangyeol is on the move going to Seulbi for a chat. She finds out the 'ideal type' text on Day 5 was from him, not Hanu. A complete twist and unexpected, but she feels he is too young...
Pink Lie House Party
A special house party is prepared for the Pinkmates today where the dress code is Pink Lie~ After getting dolled up, they come outside for the grand party. Our power couple Chansol and Dahae show up together looking like the guests of honor. After each making a toast, it is time to party! Cheers~ All the food is so beautifully arranged and looks so yummy!
In the midst of dinner, the 'Pink Moon' suddenly chimes. They may now check the contents of the mysterious envelopes, but are not allowed to reveal it to others. It is the undelivered texts from Days 6 & 7 along with the names of the sender. As a reminder, the instructions for these days was to send it to the person whom they truly have feelings for.
While Chansol and Dahae are shyly covering their faces smiling ear to ear, others are feeling complicated emotions... Hangyeol and Hanui did not receive any texts on both days. Bareum did not get a text from Seulbi on Day 7 and is confused, but holding onto hope. Taeyang is in shock, unable to trust anymore. Daon texted him, 'I want to write the last chapter with you' on Day 6, but nothing on Day 7. Would she still be interested if he did not get jealous? On Day 7 Taeyang sent 'Even if we started over, it'd be you' to Daon. It made her heart flutter. But she's now also paying attention to Hangyeol who confessed his feelings. Hanu, who had presumed Daon was not interested, got her text: 'I hope you don't end this feeling lukewarm.' Hmm...
Park Hangyeol's Pink Lie
As the dinner party continues, the 'Pink Moon' rises again with a new message: 'On this spot, someone's lie will be revealed.' Gasp... Hangyeol tears up, and says he had wanted to reveal his lie today. It has been too emotionally hard and uncomfortable for him...
"I... run a wedding photography studio. And I'm not 25 years old, but I, Park Hangyeol, am 37 years old." Wow, not the baby maknae! Turns out to be the oldest hyung!
In his 20s, he was a stage actor making 500,000 won a month and struggling to barely get by in life. As a result, he even had depression. But at 30, his life took a big turn when he learned photography. Now that he is 37, he is feeling pressured about considering marriage. So to go back to a time when he can date freely, he decided to lie about his age.
Now that his secret is revealed, it can be a game changer. Seulbi, who had never considered Hangyeol due to his young age, is now seeing him in a different way. "Back then, he was just a cute friend. But now, I see him as a man," she said.
On the other hand, Taeyang is having a mental breakdown over the reveal. To get a reaction, Hangyeol had purposely acted immature towards him. Taeyang, who thought he crossed the line, disciplined him. Now feeling sorry...In shock, he is tense, and shaking... Not able to trust anyone anymore, he cannot calm down, and wants to leave the show...
An Overnight Trip
'Pink Moon' rises again with exciting news this time. An overnight trip!! Each person is asked to rank their top 5 of who they would like to go with. Those who pick each other will be paired up, while others will be randomly matched based on the list.
Hanu, who cannot decide, calls Daon over to the dining room for a private chat. And wants to know how she would feel if he went with somebody else. "Go," she says. After all 5 dates, he did not text her. For her, actions speak louder than words. After receiving no texts from him, it is clear he has no feelings for her. But he claims to be still unsure of how he feels and cannot even remember if he sent both texts to Haneul. Really? Doubt it... Feeling he is caught up on how they have things in common and get along, she explains it does not mean it will develop into romantic feelings. In the end, it is his choice, so she tells him to just do what he wants.
The talk with Daon ended without a conclusion for Hanu. After rejoining the group, he signals Haneul to go upstairs to talk. He straight up talks about his uncertainty about Daon and is still weighing his options between the two. Then complains how both of them are not giving him a sense of assurance. This is absurd... Seeking assurance when he himself is so wishy-washy. But Haneul is already clear, telling him she only has 1 person in mind. That plus the texts she sent to him on both days. She tells Hanu, who is in a dilemma, to go on the trip with Daon. To be clear of his feelings and let her know afterwards. He thanks her for being understanding.
Haneul returns to her room and confides in Seulbi feeling certain she is not Hanu's number 1 pick. "He was unsure about Daon, not me," she says. "So in a way... I'm like his safety net." It is definitely not a good feeling to only be someone's second choice...
Water or Fire?
At the same time, Daon confides in Dahae saying Hanu is not for her. And in a way, they said their goodbyes today. Chansol joins their chat since Daon needs advice about Taeyang. After their first date, she fell head over heels for him but started having some doubts. Then there is Hangyeol, who has continued to respect and support her unconditionally. "Taeyang is like fire like a spicy flavor," she says. "And Hangyeol is like water, a lake." For Dahae, she would pick water which is steady. Chansol, who thinks fire can be passionate, says no comment... Water of fire? Who will Daon pick?
Overnight Trip Results
Feelings become more complicated as time goes by. After struggling with the decision, Daon sends her text. In the living room, Hanu says, "Daon let's go on the trip together." She replies cheekily, "Okay." Everyone has sent their texts and the results are in...
Only two pairs were matched up as each other's first picks. Meanwhile chaos for the rest...
Hanu, who ranked Daon 1st and Haneul 2nd, thought he would be going with Daon. Hanu is actually Daon's 3rd pick... Livid, he says, "Daon-ah... so you really are a fox!" Right in front of everyone! OMG... Then says, "Goodbye..." and angrily gets up to leave the room like a pouty child who did not get his way...
After not speaking with Taeyang, Daon still chose fire over water... Looks like she craves that spicy flavor! Will it turn into ashes? Meanwhile Hangyeol's top 2 picks, Daon and Seulbi, both did not pick him... So he is matched with Hanui, who was his 4th pick...
The Aftermath
Hanu comes back into the living room, and orders Haneul upstairs to talk again... What the... He has the nerve to complain to his date partner asking if this is some sort of prank... Haneul is being way too nice with this attention seeker. "Am I a pushover?" she asks. Meanwhile, he is still whining, "How dare that fox do this to me...?" Wow, how entitled is this guy to be acting this way... He is being so inconsiderate of Haneul's feelings... It is so offensive!
In the interview, Haneul said, "I wonder if it was that upsetting... But he wasn't a man about it. I thought Daon was showing interest in several guys like Hanu was with us. But on this show, that's not necessarily a bad thing to do."
With not much time left until the final choice, an overnight trip could be a crucial turning point. Will it be an opportunity for new emotions to develop? Or will it create further chaos...?
