'Physical: 100' Quest 4: Ancient Mythology Top 5 Finalists
The theme for Quest 4 is ancient mythology and consists of five events: Atlas, Prometheus, Icarus, Sisyphus, and Ouroboros. It is a team delegate match where each team needs to send one member to compete in each event. Among the four contestants participating, only one survives while the rest are eliminated. Out of the 20 contestants remaining, only 5 can advance to the final quest.

In each of the five events based on ancient mythology, stamina is key! So, who will be victorious?
THE PUNISHMENT OF ATLAS
In the first event, The Punishment of Atlas, the four contestants must hold up a large heavy rock and stay still. Once the rock drops to the ground, they are eliminated. The last person standing wins. The participants are Kim Kang Min, Shin Bo Mi Re, Kim Sik, and Jo Jin Hyeong.
Shin Bo Mi Re struggled to lift the heavy rock at the start and is the first one out. But mad respect for self-sacrificing and attempting this event that nobody on her team wanted to do. Kim Kang Min also struggled to hold up the weight of the rock and dropped it shortly after. But Kim Sik gave strongman Jo Jin Hyeong quite a challenge. Both showed amazing mental fortitude and endured the weight for over 2 hours. Absolutely mind-blowing! In the end, frontrunner Jo Jin Hyeong held on the longest to become the winner of Atlas. Truly a punishment!
Note: The weight of the rock was not disclosed, but Kim Kang Min commented that it was at least 50 kilograms.
THE FIRE OF PROMETHEUS
In the second event, The Fire of Prometheus, contestants will race on an obstacle course to obtain a torch. The race is repeated until the last torch is taken. The participants are Dustin Nippert, Seol Ki Kwan, Park Jin Yong, and Miracle.
Although Dustin Nippert had the height advantage for the hurdle obstacle, he landed awkwardly, fell, and is the first one out. Seol Ki Kwan is eliminated on the next run. It was a race between luger Park Jin Yong and dancer Miracle for the final torch. But it was no contest! Park Jin Yong was the fastest in every race, and is the final survivor of Prometheus. A dark horse advancing to the top 5!
THE WINGS OF ICARUS
In The Wings of Icarus, the contestants must continuously climb up a single rope that keeps coming down. The last contestant to remain on the rope wins. An event that seems tailor-made for mountain rescuer and ice climber Kim Min Cheol. Although teammate Woo Jin Yong wanted this event too, he yielded in the end. The participants are Son Hee Dong, Kim Da Young, Kim Min Cheol, and Song A Reum.
With no prior experience in rope climbing, Song A Reum is the first one out. And Kim Da Young held on for as long as she could before her arm strength gave out. As a wrestler, Son Hee Dong is skilled in rope climbing too, and was confident in this game. However, it was not even close! Kim Min Cheol looked so comfortable on that rope, and is the final survivor of Icarus.
THE TAIL OF OUROBOROS
The Tail of Ouroboros is a circular catch-the-tail game. Four contestants start running at the same time and need to tag the person in front to eliminate them. Only the person who does not get tagged will survive. The participants are Cha Hyun Seung, Woo Jin Yong, Jeong Han Saem, and Cho Jung Myung.
Cha Hyun Seung, who has a fractured rib, was visibly running in pain. And gets caught first by Cho Jung Myung on lap 5. When Jung Myung sped up to try to catch Jin Yong, it threw off his breathing, rhythm, and pace. On lap 13, he lost steam and gets caught by Jeong Han Saem. It then becomes an endless hell with the two remaining. On lap 21, Woo Jin Yong managed to close the gap enough for a final sprint to tag out Han Saem. An impressive burst of energy in the end for the win!
THE PUNISHMENT OF SISYPHUS
In The Punishment of Sisyphus event, the contestants must repeatedly roll a 100-kilogram boulder up and down a hill. The time limit for each roll is 40 seconds. The last person who continues to keep the boulder moving will survive. The participants are Ma Sun Ho, Jung Hae Min, Yun Sung Bin, and Choo Sung Hoon. With 3 of the 4 team leaders competing, a big match!
Repeatedly rolling the 100-kilogram boulder up and down the hill is much heavier and more difficult than they had imagined. A true punishment that drained their energy to the very last drop. Although Ma Sun Ho's goal was to at least beat the oldest competitor Choo Sung Hoon, he was ultimately the first to be eliminated. Choo Sung Hoon fought well against the younger guys, but eventually reached his limit. It comes down to the two athletes. In the end, Jung Hae Min was able to outlast fan favorite Yun Sung Bin to become the sole survivor of The Punishment of Sisyphus. Impressive!
