Kim Jang Mi's Daily Life Reveal

A brand new house is revealed... Who is the friend this time? The alarm goes off, but the person is still asleep. The cute doggie starts barking to wake her up...

"Hello, I am Kim Jang Mi~" The MCs are happy to see the familiar face from Heart Signal 2. She had a bob haircut back then, but they recognize the cute and charismatic "female catfish." It has been 3 years since the show and so much has changed. Jangmi is no longer living in the US and is now living in Korea. This house has been her home for almost two years now. The space is decorated with neat special items. And the bedroom is minimalist with pure white beauty. Sangmin thinks the house is really pretty. Heechul agrees, "It looks like a model house."

Good Morning Routine

Jangmi finally wakes up and turns off the alarm. The first thing she does in the morning is to greet her two doggies with a lot of love and affection. The family members are introduced. Maknae is Booty who is 8 months old (female) and the oldest is Pepper who is 2 years old (male). Pepper is simply named after "black pepper." As for Booty, she is given this name because of her "cute booty." The two listens well to their mommy and are always by her side.

The next essential task is to prepare chestnuts for breakfast. Heechul is surprised, "Except for a memorial service, I've never seen it..." Sangmin has also never seen anyone have chestnuts for breakfast either. Jangmi says, "I'm a roasted chestnuts killer. I eat roasted chestnuts every day."

This serves as a timer to get ready for work within 15 minutes. Once it goes "ddaeng," the time is up! She heads to the bathroom first to get her electric toothbrush. 5 seconds later, she goes to the dressing room to choose an outfit for today. What is Jangmi's daily fashion look? An oversized shirt, "It's corduroy. A warm feeling." Then she quickly picks out a pair of jeans to match too. Jangmi does not agonize over choosing clothes. "New York Style! Real New Yorkers don't really care about clothes that much." She is done getting ready in just 15 minutes. Right on time! The roasted chestnuts are nicely cooked. After packing it up, she leaves for work.

Fashion CEO Jangmi's Story

Jangmi walks to work, bringing along Pepper. After greeting her colleagues, her fashion company is revealed. Full of various accessories like fabric, clothes pins, tape measure, etc. Jangmi graduated from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and majored in Fashion Design. After dreaming of becoming a designer, she is now pursuing a career as a fashion entrepreneur. Jangmi felt very depressed back then, as there were so many people who were good at designing. "I thought I didn't have the talent," she says. Later, she got intrigued by the business side of the industry and switched to doing Trade & Marketing. The MCs are in awe with how cool she looks at work.

When she found out how well Korean clothes sell in the US, she kept going back and forth between the two places for her business. She describes how different Dongdaemun is now compared to 10 years ago. She says, "Now, it's heaven!" As a young 23-year-old back then, she had to learn how to use Dongdaemun language when negotiating with wholesale suppliers. Jangmi gets emotional thinking of the past struggles, "It was really hard then. I cried a lot when I got home." Seunghee feels sadness, "I think it's because I can feel the hardships of life watching this."

Healing Time After Work

Jangmi finally gets off work and returns home after dark. She sweetly greets Booty who is excited to see mom and Pepper come home. First thing she does at home is put on headphones, but not for music. It is an interview with a company CEO on how to recover a business during the Covid-19 situation. "It's work again!" like Heechul says. As she listens, she also starts to prepare dinner. On the menu tonight, beef brisket and broccoli fried rice. She says, "I never eat instant food!" Nowadays, she eats pretty simply so she tries to cook often whenever time allows.

In the pan, she first adds oil and garlic. Then broccoli and onions. And then instant rice? Heechul chuckles, "Didn't she just say she never eats instant food?" Too funny! Next, the beef brisket goes in. Lastly, she cracks an egg right into the pan. A smile comes across her face, looking highly satisfied. The fried rice is complete!

Time to eat! Jangmi digs in and keeps praising how good it is. "Pepper, this is so good!" Mmm~ "It's a waste to eat this alone." The crew laughs when she tries to use an expression to describe how good the fried rice is. Instead of "It was amazing," she says "My ears are blocked!" Mistakenly using "ear" (gwi)... too cute!

While eating, her eyes are glued to the TV. Heechul notices how different her eyes look from her mouth. Eyebrows are frowning, while the mouth is deliciously enjoying food. Shindong wonders what she is watching. The reason for the serious look on her face is because of the drama The Penthouse. The MCs react excitedly and Heechul jumps up in approval, "Injeong!" He watched it too and remembers this epic scene. She is loving the drama, "It's so much fun! There are so many crazy people!"

After dinner, Jangmi starts to exercise. The MCs crack up. She is still watching TV through the mirror reflection. As she explains why there is a big mirror, "Should be used for looking at myself when I exercise. But I also really want to watch the drama." Jangmi tries to do both at the same time like the idiom goes, "Kill two birds with one stone." It keeps distracting her from the workout though since the drama is "so provocative." Then says, "That's why I do not watch dramas." The MCs chuckle. Heechul teases, "After watching this much?" Her actions do not quite match her words. Shindong cracks up! In the end, she stops exercising and turns around to focus on the drama. 

This marks the end of Jangmi's day. The MCs had fun watching. Sangmin describes, "She is a cute CEO with a bit of bluff." Teasing her about using instant rice when she claims to never eat instant food. And how she claims to not watch dramas, but watches TV through the mirror while exercising. Hilarious!
