Jung Jae Ho plans a "Friend-some Day" to help Seo Min Jae look for a new apartment like a newlywed couple.

Previously on Episode 1, Jaeho draws out a name and $10 from the "Pick a Friend" capsule toy vending machine. Despite feeling frustrated about only getting $10, it cannot be helped. He says, I'll manage somehow!"

D-day, the "Friend-some Day" arrives! Jaeho prepares a few things and heads out to meet the new friend. While in the car, he fixes his hair and sprays on some cologne. Who will be the new friend? He gives someone a call to say where he is waiting. A female is then seen walking toward the location... It is Minjae!

Jaeho waves and happily calls out "Minjae!" to greet her. Do they already know each other? Turns out they have a mutual friend and met while attending a birthday party. Since Jaeho watched Heart Signal 3 in depth where Minjae made a strong impression, the two were able to get close really quickly.

The Search for Minjae's House

Like a gentleman, Jaeho opens the car door for Minjae. She prepared a thermos with hot honey water, but thinks it got cold already. He takes a sip and ends up burning his mouth. Too hot! She cracks up and says sorry... oops!

Thanks to Jaeho's "ddong-son" (literally "poop hand," but means unlucky or clumsy), the budget for the day is only $10. Prior to the meet-up, he gave Minjae a call to plan the day. Feeling sorry about not being able to treat her to a good meal, he wanted to do something and asked if she has any concerns lately. Minjae has been busily spending the weekends looking for a new place as she needs to move soon. After hearing about this, he decided to help her with finding the right apartment.

Back in the car, Jaeho surprises Minjae with a PowerPoint presentation. Whoa! He stayed up all night to prepare it and even got a sty. Based off of her criteria (safe neighborhood, newly built or at least clean, and sufficient storage space), he thoroughly researched and picked 4 options to look at together today. And he even mapped out how far the apartments are from her workplace. Minjae is really impressed, daebak!

Arriving at Option #1, the entire building is newly remodeled both inside and outside. The apartment is really pretty with a spacious master bedroom. There is even a smaller bedroom, which can be used as a dressing room. Jaeho prepared a checklist, making sure to not miss any questions. Minjae looks on feeling incredibly touched~

Minjae says during the interview, "Among talking with the other female cast... Jaeho oppa is really 'light Jaeho' [as in shining]. We are looking for my house, but he's taking the initiative to help me. I thought he was very meticulous and considerate."

On the way to Option #2, Jaeho asks Minjae when she wants to get married. She says, "I'm 29 right now so before 35... or 34? I don't want to rush it." Jaeho thought he would get married by 32, but it is not easy. Minjae feels she is not mature enough when compared with friends around her who are married. Jaeho has a different point of view, "I feel like even those who are married are still kids, but develop a sense of responsibility." So true!

After arriving at the location, the building is actually still under construction. They cannot enter and can only look at it from the outside. The design is interesting, the windows are large, and there is a private terrace. Location is very conveniently situated on a large street too. Jaeho shows Minjae photos of how the interior will look like. Then says he will come with her again after it is completed. "Oh~ I'd like that," says Minjae.

Jaeho's Homemade French Pie

Back on the road again. The time is now 3:50pm. Jaeho is feeling hungry and wants to eat gukbap (soup with rice) or gamjatang (pork bone soup). Minjae thinks everything sounds delicious right now, as she did not have breakfast or lunch today. Starving! Jaeho asks, "What's your favorite food?" Minjae blurts out, "I like meat!" He says sorry, as that is not possible today. After realizing the mistake, she quickly changes the answer to tteokbokki. He teases her, "Get a grip, Minjae! We only have $10..." The two burst into laughter.

Jaeho parks the car, and takes out the French pie he prepared in the morning. Minjae is so surprised that he made it himself. After taking a photo, she takes a bite of the strawberry jam pie right away. "Mmm~ It's delicious!"

Jaeho's Strawberry Jam French Pie Recipe:

• Flatten the bread thinly with a rolling pin
• Spread a lot of strawberry jam on one side of the bread (make 2 layers)
• For the remaining bread (top layer), make a round hole with a bottle cap
• Brush melted butter over the bread with a hole
• Use an air fryer to bake the bread
• Lastly, sprinkle with parsley

Wanna Eat Ramyeon?

The French pie is cleared in an instant. Jaeho says, "I'm still hungry. What should we do?" There is a convenience store right outside. He suddenly asks, "Wanna eat ramyeon?" Minjae cracks up! Note: "Ramyeon meoggo gallae?" is Korean slang similar in context to "Netflix and chill." Shindong chuckles, "Nice line!" Though in this case, it really is just to eat ramyeon. The two decide to "flex" and go for the ramyeon!

Minjae spots a cheap cup ramyeon for $0.58 so the total cost is only $1.16 for 2. Yay! They excitedly shake up the seasoning soup base and add hot water. The timer is set for 2 minutes which felt like an eternity to them. Finally, it is time to eat! As they slurp away, Minjae thinks the Jang Beom June song playing is like BGM for ramyeon. Lyrics are about heart fluttering feelings when thinking of someone. Jaeho jokes, "My heart fluttered for 2 minutes~" Pure happiness eating a simple bowl of ramyeon on a precious day.

The House Tour Continues

They arrive at Option #3 as the sun begins to set. With the apartment facing west, the sunset view is amazing! "It's so pretty," says Minjae. All of the nearby buildings are low too so the view is unobstructed. A sunset hot place! The deposit price is not so easy though... Jaeho asks the realtor, "Is there any discount for newlyweds?" Minjae laughs and plays along with him, acting like a couple. Nice try, but no discount. They love the view so much and decide to take a selfie together with the beautiful sunset in the background.

Minjae feels grateful to have Jaeho look at houses with her today, as she has always gone alone. And would often forget to ask about certain things. He then asks about her ideal house after getting married, "What is the one thing you cannot give up?" For Minjae, it is a house that is not blocked with a wide-open view like this one. As for Jaeho, he dreams of owning a house with a Han River view ever since young. Minjae sweetly offers to follow along with a checklist too when he needs to look for a new house. "Okay," says Jaeho as the two giggle.

Time to look at Option #4, the last house for the day. They quickly look over all the details, and thank the realtor for her time. It has already gotten dark outside as the house tour wraps up.

Welcome to Jaeho's Sweet Home

For dinner, Jaeho will get ingredients to make tteokbokki with the remaining money. He knows of a good place that sells freshly made garaetteok (thick rice cake), so they make a stop to go buy it.

After buying the garaetteok, they head over to Jaeho's house to cook dinner. The two awkwardly laugh while in the elevator together. Sangmin watches on, "This is quite heart fluttering!" The apartment is a bit messy since he left in a hurry this morning. While Minjae uses the bathroom, he quickly cleans up the scattered items.

10pm, finally time for dinner. Jaeho cooks the garaetteok tteokbokki while Minjae watches. "I shouldn't say this but they look like a newlywed couple," says Sangmin. "They look so good together," adds Heechul. Jaeho also makes honey grapefruit. He slices it in half horizontally, and cuts out each segment one by one. So sweet! Minjae thought it was very cute how he meticulously cut the grapefruit and then served it in an earthen pot.

Minjae wants to try a piece of the tteok from the pot first, but too hot! The tteokbokki is finally done and ready to be served. Jaeho also made crispy cheese balls he had at home, and sprinkles parsley for the final touch. "It looks $2 more expensive now," he jokes. Then shows Minjae the difference when parsley is added to the tteokbokki. "It now looks $6 more expensive," she teases. This is the parsley effect! Add truffle oil, the price goes up. Add cheese, the price goes up. Heechul is loving their chemistry. Time to eat as the two enjoy the food. Yum!

During dinner, Minjae talks about how she has never seen 4 houses within a day before. As she mentioned earlier, looking for a house is not easy. She thought all of the houses Jaeho showed her today were quite good. Out of the 4 options, she would pick the officetel (Option #3). The sunset view was simply amazing.

Jaeho says, "It kind of felt like we went on a date today." They did spend the whole day together as Minjae realizes it has been almost 12 hours already. Like a full-day date course on Heart Signal! She jokingly asks if there is some kind of rating system for the date, making Jaeho almost choke. After saying it, she feels slightly embarrassed. The two laugh. He then seriously asks, "If you have to rate me today, how many points?" Minjae replies, "For today? I'll give you maximum points!" Jaeho looks pleased... Ooh... simkoong~ 💓

The heart fluttering "Friend-some Day" wraps up. Back to the studio with the MCs. Sangmin hoped to see the guys and girls from different seasons meet. Shindong says, "I'm like 90% or 80% sure Minjae fell for Jaeho a bit." There were indeed some "simkoong" points between the two. Heechul poses a question... When it comes time for Minjae to move, will Jaeho be helping out? Hope to see more of the MinJaeHo pairing next time on Friends...
