Love Catcher in Seoul: Episode 2 Recap
Previously on Love Catcher in Seoul, nine charming men and women arrived at the 'Love Mansion' to start a weeklong journey. Some are here to find true love, while others are here to win the prize money. How will the love lines shake up after the arrival of a female catfish? And the identity of a money catcher will be revealed!
The Love Psychology Game Begins
After self-introductions (shown on Episode 1), the men and women move into separate room accommodations. Beautiful and spacious!
The ladies excitedly unpack their makeup and hair styling tools, while our maknae Jimin just quietly watches. Feeling out of place, she confides in Haneul. Compared to her unnies, she feels a lack of experience because of her younger age.
During the interview, Jimin shares how everyone can talk well with each other except for her. If it was 1-on-1 or less people, she can talk more... But when all together, it is a bit difficult for her to join in. "Because the unnies are all so attractive, I look really unattractive," she says. Jimin-ah, you are super attractive and cute~
Over at the guys room, they openly discuss who is interested in who. Guy Jimin shares how he was rejected by Inseong with a 90-degree bow, hating how he looked standing in front of the taxi. Jaehyung comes through with the comic relief. He drove a Porsche there, but it was the same result. Haha...
Wonjae then asks what their ideal types are. Jungwoo likes pretty cheekbones. Quite unique. From physiognomy, those who have pretty cheekbones will receive help from people around them. For Soowon, in terms of personality, he does not like aegyo. He prefers the easy-going type, someone who is like a friend. In terms of appearance, a cat-face type. For Jimin, pretty eyes... double eyelids, and big. The ideal type of these two men, does it overlap...?
The women also chat about who came with whom. Inseong came with Jungwoo and thought it was comfortable because he is very kind. Yeomin had two guys in mind who she wanted to come, and one was right. The person who she chose to come with, Wonjae. Sounds like she is not interested in Jaehyung then... Poor thing! Haneul who came with Soowon was worried about coming alone, so she felt very thankful after seeing him waiting.
As the women chat about who might be money or love, the TV screen turns on in the rooms to announce a new mission...
Dinner Date: That Man's Taste
A dinner date prepared by the men will be held today, and they will have to cook themselves. But there are 5 men, and 4 women... So a guy will have to eat by himself??? Brutal!
The guys head over to the kitchen to prepare, each selecting ingredients from the fridge, and deciding on a menu. Each working very hard to cook up a delicious meal for the ladies.
All the food looks so good! The ladies walk by the each table, gasping at the sight of the food Jaehyung made. Taking their sweet time to decide... Doyeon jokes, "Everyone... This is not a food court!"
Yeomin bravely chooses first, wanting to eat the warm food at Jimin's table. Girl Jimin follows suit and also picks him. Then suddenly, Haneul too! From getting rejected during the car date to Mr. Popular now. Hojun takes note, "Hmm... So it's mille-feuille nabe huh..." Too funny!
Lastly, Inseong goes to Jungwoo who had picked her up earlier for the car date. This means the other 3 guys will all have to eat alone. Sad. Soowon is in a state of shock, not chosen by Haneul. While Jaehyung is just cracking up laughing about the funny situation. And then we have Wonjae who cutely tells his hyungs to enjoy their meal... haha...
Jimin did not even imagine 3 people would choose him, saying how he feels full even without eating. He helps to get food for everyone, but seems to be taking extra care of Haneul. While Soowon is over on the next table, sighing... making Haneul conscious of it.
Soowon says in the interview, "I felt miserable because I didn't get chosen. I couldn't manage my facial expression in the beginning." To try to control his mind, all he could do was to look off into the distance. Feeling all kinds of emotions he has never experienced before, he says.
Haneul shares in the interview how she felt that if she leaned to one side from the first day, she would not have a chance to get to know others. "I wanted to make a different choice. For me, that is Jimin," she says. "I wanted to talk with him and get to know him more."
Back at the dinner table. Jimin just keeps giving food to the ladies and barely eating himself. For the last course, he cracks an egg into the hot broth. Noticing how a bit of egg got on his hand, girl Jimin sweetly passes a napkin to him. And praises by saying she wants to eat this for breakfast tomorrow too. Hojun notes, "Yang Jimin is love!"
Over at Jungwoo's dinner table, Inseong tries the seaweed soup first and says it is delicious. He shyly smiles, checking if she really means it since the soup did get cold already. Really is delicious, she says, not empty words. Then brings up how he is older and that it is awkward to keep calling him by name. "Can I call you oppa?" she boldly asks. Omona~ She continues to be full of praise, as he happily grills more meat for her to eat. He comments how she gives off something that makes people feel good. Such a sweet atmosphere.
The 3 guys who were not picked finish up dinner first and return to the room, commiserating together. So much time, effort, and sincerity put into cooking dinner. But nobody came...
After dinner, the girls also discuss feeling sorry. Haneul reveals in the interview, "I felt sorry and a bit... uncomfortable." Soowon was eating by himself and kept sighing, so it felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
First Interest Votes Revealed
Finally, time to check votes! Once a day, each cast member can express interest by placing an anonymous heart coin in that person's storage cabinet. One by one, they head over to the room to check how many heart coins they may have received.
Inseong cannot hide her smile after returning to the room. Yeomin returns with a complicated expression. Jimin who was expecting 0 votes has no clue who it is from. Haneul with 2 votes is also confused... 1 is from Soowon probably, but has no idea about the other vote...
Jaehyung is not shaken by the 0 votes, as he did not expect any. Wonjae is satisfied with the 1 vote, guessing it is from Yeomin. Jungwoo thinks there can only be 1 from Inseong, who he says is like a bright light here. Soowon who has only expressed interest to Haneul is unsure about how her choice might have changed. Him and Jimin both got 1 vote each, but returned to the room with complex expressions.
Who each vote was from is not revealed to the audience... hmm...
In the guys room, Jimin curiously asks if anyone saw 2 coins (when they opened the cabinet to vote). Jaehyung chuckles and says it is unexpected... Did he really see the owner of the 2 votes?? Sunny wonders if he is the other person who voted for Haneul...
The females also discuss after checking votes. Feeling not too bad, so-so, they say. Haneul comments on how they have not been able to call anyone oppa yet. But Inseong is like, oh, I just called him oppa earlier. They make a fuss teasing her... "Jungwoo oppa?!" Too cute!
The Female Catfish Arrives
In the midst of the fun, the TV screen suddenly turns on again showing the video surveillance from the CCTV. A woman is seen on the monitor slowly approaching the 'Love Mansion' with a suitcase... Everyone is getting goosebumps... But the panelists think Jaehyung must be the happiest right now, there is hope for him! "I suddenly feel really good," he says. The panelists cracks up, bingo!
The new female cast member enters the house wearing all black. So chic! And very pretty! A different type of charm that does not overlap with the others. She sits and waits at the dining table for the rest of the cast members. One by one, they enter to greet her.
Jimin: When I first saw her, she looked so beautiful.
Jaehyung: All possibilities are open... It's just the beginning!
Wonjae: The person closest to my ideal type appeared, honestly, I was a bit surprised...
Soowon: The first impression is not bad...

Time for the reveal... Another Porsche?! It is a guy... The money catcher is Yoon Jungwoo!
Introducing himself, he is 32 years old, but in reality is the CEO of a startup consulting firm. Not a freelance travel writer. With offices in Hanam and Suwon, and around 20 employees. The company helps create business plans, consulting from interior design to branding, and corporate image.
The reason for choosing money catcher to change his job...
As a businessman, there are times when financially comfortable, but also times of difficulties. When financially comfortable, the relationship goes smoothly he says. But on the other hand, when times are tough, the person may leave. Now in a well-off situation, he does not believe in the love that approaches.
